Temporis International Awards are voted on by a jury of industry experts from across the world including legendary watchmakers Philippe Dufour, Kari Voutillainen and Romain Gaultier along with specialist journalists, retailers and influencers.

The Best Start-Up Watch category highlights the creations of newly established watch brands that have been operating for a minimum of five years.

The jury studies the brand’s horological creations as well as business issues like distribution and after-sales service.

Catching the eye of the jury was Bianchet’s creation of a proprietary titanium flying tourbillon movement from titanium; the sort of horological achievement more associated with Richard Mille’s six-figure timepieces or Omega’s new Seamaster Planet Ocean.

Richard Mille’s RM 66 Flying Tourbillon costs over $1 million, but Bianchet’s Flying Tourbillon Grande Date is priced at CHF 65,500 plus tax.

Bianchet’s movement development and the case were both guided by age-old construction principles founded on the golden ratio and the Fibonacci sequence, bringing a sense of harmony and ageless design to the heart of this ultra-modern watch, the company says.
