Head of Operations at Berry’s Jewellers, Simon Oxby, is preparing to take numerous pies in the face as a way of raising funds for MIND.
It is Berry’s chosen charity this year and Mr Oxby has agreed to take part in the “Oxby Pie-athon for MIND” to help even further. It will take place during Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from May 15th – May 21st.
Staff, customers and trade friends will be able to donate £5 per throw of a pie in Simon’s face, which he says has been insured for up to £5m.
Each pie will be hand made by the thrower, and both the Berry’s and MIND logos will be placed on top before each pie is launched towards Mr Oxby.
Mr Oxby has also very kindly agreed that people can sponsor a pie for the same £5, to be thrown on their behalf – so distance is no object.
