Danish watchmaker Arcanaut will present its newly launched D’Arc Matter Colours Collection for the first time in the UK at November’s WatchPro Salon in London.
The range of watches goes on pre-sale today to people signed up to the Arcanaut newsletter, and will be on general release on September 30.
Each of the four coloured watches is limited to 25 pieces for 2023, and the Danish business cautions against expecting an addition production run next year.
“It is likely the Colours collection will return in 2024 and beyond, but the number of pieces made in future years may reduce to make space for new references being added to the collection,” Arcanaut says.
The four colours — blue, green, orange and yellow — being released this year are retailing for CHF 3,536.
Each has a dial made from a compositive material created from feeding Scandinavian slate through an industrial coffee grinder and mixing the resulting powder with an ultra-clear UV-resistant binding agent.
James Thompson, AKA The Black Badger, first made the material in Arcanaut’s 2021 D’Arc Matter Limited Edition watches.
The watches were so popular that Arcanaut is trying to manage demand for the latest drop while rewarding previous customers.
15 watches, 60% of this year’s production of 25 pieces in each colour, are available from 6pm, UK time, this evening to subscribers.
Once sold, the remainder will go on general release.
