Russian watchmaker Alexander Shorokhoff is paying tribute to legendary countryman Peter Tchaikovsky in the latest addition to its alarm clock line, the Swan Lake AVG edition.
The watch shows its inspiration from the world’s most beloved ballet, with music composed by Tchaikovsky in 1875, in the curving, almost dancing hour numerals of the alarm clock disc in the centre of the dial.
The alarm is set with its own crown by aligning a small arrow at 6 o’clock with the hours on the central disk.
The 40mm watch also has an innovative hinged case in polished steel so that, when the watch is put on a bedside table, the dial can be lifted so it can be seen as a small clock.
The underside of the watch has an exhibition back exposing the intricately decorated hand-wound movement using engraving and polishing of all bridges and the main plate, which are then plated in either gold or rhodium.
Only 30 pieces are being made for each dial colour priced at €2,930.
