Peter Speake designs for Frederique Constant

Frederique Constant is giving its Slimline Perpetual Calendar line a boost with a limited edition designed by independent British watchmaker Peter Speake.

The Frederique Constant Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture, limited to 135 units, comes in a 42mm steel case housing a skeletonised FC-775 movement.

The launch comes hot on the heels of a collaboration with French DJ and musician Tristan Casara, who designed a pair of Highlife automatics that went on sale at the end of last year.

Mr Speake’s input has produced a watch with a minimalist colour palette of white, matte anthracite grey, and accents of red.

Its FC-775 calibre movement, visible through an exhibition case back, is given a traditional perlage and Cote de Geneve finish and has a branded blue openwork rotor exposing more of the mechanism.

It controls central hours and minutes hands, moonphase, date, day, month and leap year indications.

“This timepiece exemplifies Frederique Constant’s commitment to Swiss-made luxury watches at accessible prices, with a strong focus on craftsmanship and innovation,” the company says.

The watch is water resistant to 100 feet and sold on a grey nylon strap for £10,795.
