Thomas Sabo hires new UK boss, while former wholesale director moves to TAG

Tony Björk, the current managing director of Thomas Sabo in Scandinavia, has been named as the new managing director for the brand in the UK.

Tony Björk, who has worked for Thomas Sabo for five years, will now lead the UK & Ireland markets, with immediate effect.

It was announced last month that former boss Jon Crossick had decided to leave the company after five years in charge. He remains on gardening leave until October 2018.

Thomas Sabo’s wholesale director, Nick Callegari, has also resigned from the brand and moved back to the watch industry by accepting the role of commercial director at Tag Heuer.

Callegari joined Thomas Sabo just over three years ago. Prior to working with the brand, he held the position of head of retail at Watches of Switzerland.

Following Callegari’s departure, Thomas Sabo’s national sales manager for the UK & Ireland, Darrell Granton, has been promoted to head of wholesale.

Brand founder, Thomas Sabo, is confident Björk will drive growth in the UK and Ireland.

He comments: “I’m very pleased that Tony has decided to add the UK to his portfolio – he has been an excellent leader in the Scandinavian marketplace, and with Tony, I see the firm in a strong position for its future growth in the UK too.”

Björk said: “I’m very excited to be joining the UK, after having worked for the brand for the last few years, I really believe we have strong foundations; which can only continue to grow, and with the launch of our Autumn Winter collection in the next few weeks, we will be putting various plans into place in order to continue to develop the brand in the marketplace, so stay tuned.”
