Harrods to double the size of its Fine Watch Room

Harrods will start work this month on a major redevelopment of its Fine Watch Room that will double its size.

The Knightsbridge institution will burrow through the centre of its ground floor space to create a statement spiral staircase into a lower ground area.

Details are still under wraps of the final layout of the new Fine Watch Room (rooms), but it is expected that there will be an additional five watch boutiques added to the line up when complete.

Harrods currently houses boutiques for Rolex, Roger Dubuis, Chanel, Omega, IWC, Panerai, Audemars Piguet, Hublot, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet, A. Lange & Sohne, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Richard Mille.

Around 15 additional brands, including TAG Heuer and Tudor, have concession counters in the centre of the space. Others, such as Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier, are in the adjacent Fine Jewellery Room.

The Harrods website currently shows the Fine Wine Room, currently on the lower ground floor directly below the Fine Watch Room, will be there only until July 16.
