Witness The Birth Of A New British Watch Brand At This Week's WatchPro Salon

WatchPro Salon will witness the birth of a brand new luxury British watch brand this week: Edward Christopher.

Its first watch is the Manta dive watch, which picks up the beauty and radiant colours of the manta ray.

It comes in a range five colours: blue, green, turquoise, red and black.

In each case, a guilloché dial fades from bold towards white in the centre, and the watch straps match the dial colours and bezels.

They use Swiss-made Sellita time-only automatic movements, with time hacking, and have an unusual internal rotating unidirectional bezel operated by one of two colour coded-crowns.

The Manta comes in a 40mm brushed steel case with polished facets that is water resistant to 660 feet. Its highly legible dial has a guilloche pattern that fades from its perimeter to the centre.

“Edward Christopher’s design ethos blends the polished precision of Swiss mechanical movements with some of the very best British characteristics of sophistication, adventurousness and eccentricity,” the company promises.

The London-based company is yet to start officially trading, but has given itself two missions in life: first to design beautiful modern style luxury watches, with strikingly distinct and even unique features and in strong colours, for men and women; secondly to give a healthy percentage of profits to help children and young people in need around the world.

Edward Christopher is appearing among a line up of 40 prestigious watch brands and a carefully curated lounge of pre-owned businesses exhibiting at this year’s WatchPro Salon, which takes place at The Londoner Hotel on Leicester Square from November 10 to 11.
