Actors and sports stars are regulars of our Who Watch Wear feature, but it’s not so often a politician takes the headline. New York’s new Major Zohran Mamdani has done just that though, sporting a modest Casio that authentically fits his grassroot values and Millennial vibes, while elsewhere, Taylor Swift continues to whip the internet into a frenzy with her latest horological moment. Here’s more…
9 of the best celebrity watch moments
Zohran Mamdani

Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected Democratic nominee for NYC mayor, has attracted attention not just for his grassroots campaign but also for his understated watch choice – the Casio A1000MA-7VT. Part of Casio’s Vintage Iconic collection released in 2022, the watch features a stainless steel case, mineral glass crystal, and a slimmer, sleeker profile than Casio’s classic digital models thanks to a smaller battery and Casio’s 3479 movement.
Its clean silver-tone finish and beaded bracelet give it a polished yet approachable look, aligning seamlessly with Mamdani’s relatable, millennial aesthetic. You’d be right for thinking this is excellent wardrobe strategy, but the new Major has actually worn the watch for years, including in his wedding photos.
Retailing for around $160, the watch has now sold out on Casio’s website.
Taylor Swift

TayTay was recently spotted in New York having taken off *that* Cartier Santos Demoiselle that broke the internet in favour of Louis Vuitton’s £50,000 Tambour. Crafted from yellow gold and featuring the signature rounded ‘drum’ case, the model was originally launched in 2022, but now arrives slimmer, more precise, and powered by the in-house LFT023 calibre.
Louis Vuitton’s horological offering was once considered just an extension of its fashion accessories collection, but now under the of young director of watches Jean Arnault, the maison has repositioned itself as a serious contender. From using outsourced movements to producing watches that are now 85% made in-house at the Fabrique du Temps manufacture, it’s aiming for collector credibility rather than mass-market appeal (though having Swift pictured wearing a watch certainly won’t hurt).
Victoria Beckham

The world might have been watching David Beckham (finally) arise as Sir, but our eyes were fixed on Victoria’s wrist candy. The singer-turned-designer wore a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100R-010 which shimmers with 552 diamonds totalling 6.51 carats, as well as a bracelet made of 79 Akoya pears.
Eagle-eyed readers will interestingly notice an absence of a watch on David’s wrist – he instead went for an arguably more regal pocket watch instead, though details of which are yet to surface.
A$AP Rocky

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made a signature statement entrance at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards at the American Museum of Natural History this week. A$AP, accepting the Style Icon award, wore a suitably chic Patek Philippe Neptune in 18k yellow gold (ref. 5081J-010) on a glossy black alligator strap, featuring a sunburst silvered white dial.
The Neptune, launched in 1996 and produced until around 2005, pays tribute to the Roman god of water and seas. This version features Patek’s signature ‘fish-mouth’ crown guards, a finely fluted bezel, and a deployant clasp adorned with the Calatrava cross. While leather strap editions remain highly sought-after, the maison also created integrated-bracelet models such as refs. 5081/1 and 5085/1 (Moonphase) which are prized for their ‘fish-scale’ bracelets.
Jacob Elordi

Actor Jacob Elordi was recently spotted the cool kids’ current must-have watch: Audemars Piguet’s Bamboo in yellow gold. Coveted for its sculptural gold integrated bracelet, it was produced from the early 1980s to the late 1990s, including this rare 33mm Jumbo automatic version.
Though he’s known for his love of Cartier, the pull of the 2025 grail piece was all too strong for the fashion favourite, who joins the likes of Romeo Beckham, Barcelona defender Jules Koundé and tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, all of whom have also been spotted wearing versions of the model.
Regé-Jean Page

Actor Regé-Jean Page is a regular in the Jaeger-LeCoultre books, and he was seen at fashion brand Canali’s Beverley Hills store reopening celebrations wearing the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in pink gold on a black strap. Its brooding black dial nods to the early coloured models – JCL was one of the first maisons to introduce these in the 1930s at a time when silver and white was still the norm. With its ultra-thin case (7.56 mm) and customisable reverse, it’s powered by the in-house calibre 822.
Tramell Tillman

Severance actor Tramell Tillman was seen wearing the Urban Jürgensen UJ-2 at TIME100 Next Gala – a fully handmade, high-complication wristwatch that requires 565 hours of handcrafting. Housed in a 39mm platinum case, its dial features hand-turned guilloché with flame-blued hands, while the in-house UJ-2 calibre movement boasts grenage, perlage, domed chamfering, mirror-polished screws and satin-polished finishes.
Saquon Barkley

Last week was a good one for American football star Saquon Barkley who not only was named number one on the Top 100 Players of 2025 list, but also become official ‘Friend of the Brand’ to H. Moser & Cie. Barkley first donned a piece by the brand back in May at the 2025 Met Gala, and now celebrates his new role wearing the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Spiced Acqua.
The 42.8mm open-worked timepiece showcases the in-house skeleton HMC 811 calibre, spotlighted by a one-minute flying tourbillon paired with a cylindrical hairspring, ensuring constant oscillation and exceptional precision. Its standout feature is the orange domed subdial which floats above the dial, finished with a transparent lacquer logo, and turquoise Globolight indices and hands.
Michael Jordan

The one and only GOAT, Michael Jordan, made a return to screens last week with a rare interview for a landmark NBC broadcast titled ‘MJ: Insights to Excellence’. Over the course of the appearance, Jordan mused the challenges of staying relevant in a world that is constantly evolving – but he’s clearly on the money with his choice of watch, opting for the very cool Vanguart Orb.
Garnering a reputation as one to watch with its enviable high complications and exploration of depth, the Orb is the relatively young brand’s second timepiece, and features a skeleton movement with a novel winding-function selector that switches between manual and automatic winding. Costing a whopping CHF 180,000, you’ll have to have a bank account like Jordan himself for this one.
