Versace celebrates couples in love with Medusa Icon for Valentine’s Day

Using pink as the colour of love, Versace has chosen this as a pastel shade for its special Valentine’s Day edition.

Using pink as the colour of love, Versace has chosen this as a pastel shade for its special Valentine’s Day edition.

An evolution of the Medusa Icon collection which launched last fall, Versace says it hopes the new timepieces reflect the importance and significance of Medusa as a symbol.

The dial displays Medusa in its centre using a three-dimensional image given prominence by the colour contrast between the pink design, with depth conveyed through details rendered in deeper tones, and the IP champagne of the textured dial.

Innovative aesthetic features range from the engraved Greca motif that encircles the Medusa, underscoring her evocative power, to the two windows indicating hours and minutes while a black cabochon adorns the crown.

The case is 38mm in diameter and the dial shows the Versace logo at 12 as well as the Medusa motif.

It comes on a pink leather strap with a metal loop at 12 o’clock and butterfly buckly.

The Medusa Icon is available from January in Versace stores, at authorized retailers and on Versace.com, retailing at $1,445.
