Italian brand Venezianico has unveiled the Redentore Reserva di Carica, making it the flagship model of the Redentore collection.
In coming to market with the new watches, it is clear to see Venezianico’s intent of achieving its vision of delivering quality at an affordable price, discussed in-depth last week as part of a Quickfire Q&A with WatchPro.
Venezianico seems to have most definitely achieved this with its latest release and the inclusion of a power reserve indicator is the best place to start to show just how the team has gone about doing so.
What is interesting here is the way in which the design team has chosen to indicate the level of charge.
A hammer shaped hand has been deployed, which is easily distinguished by the different coloured details of the head. However, this does differ in the green and anthracite versions, which have the colour scheme reversed and the whole power reserve hand comes in white, while the head is the same colour as the indexes and hands.
When it comes to watchmaking, power reserve indicators are highly-valued and respected among watch aficionados as a technicality to include, and in this instance, will be a real standout for Venezianico as it takes the product to market.
Furthermore, the decision to power the collection with the Seiko NE57 movement is another string to the Redentore’s bow. Given its complexity allows for additional functionality of the date at 6 o’clock, it is a true display of the brand’s intent of quality and affordability not becoming mutually exclusive as it so often does in luxury offerings.
At 6 o’clock, the date hand flies over a disk which features a multitude of concentric tracks that cut across the micro-sunray finish of the surface and in the stainless steel versions, the first day of the month is marked by a different colour.
Now, while quality is all well and good, achieving it as a modern, contemporary brand is sometimes tricky when hitting a price point you know is going to attract watch lovers in Europe and around the world.
In offering the Redentore Reserva di Carica at a price of EUR 565 (including taxes), Venezianico can be proud and confident the new release will take the brand from strength to strength.
Beauty, quality and refinement are all indisputable adjectives which come to mind when Venice pops up, something which can be seen in the inspiration behind the brand Venezianico and its watches.
In cementing the relationship with the beloved art-city as well as its ‘Redentore’ namesake, the famous Basilica del Redentore is engraved on the caseback.
This building was commissioned to Andrea Palladio, one of the most influential architects in the history of Venice, given he designed some of the Serenissima Republic buildings such as the Church of San Giorgio and the Palladian Villas – work which earned him the fame of Master of the Neoclassical Style.
Celebrating this link on the caseback of the watch, Venezianico once again finds the appetite of its targeted consumer in referring back to the quality, tradition and luxury that Venice is so famous for and takes this further with the perfectly circular dial, sleek sapphire glass and the shiny roof-shaped hands.
Those among us who have a keen eye for detail join the Venezianico designers in doing so, and you don’t have to look beyond to get an insight into this.
Designers have alternated between polished upper surfaces with finely brushed vertical ones while the sunray finish that fills it features a sandblasted ring which beautifully plays host to the power reserve scale.
It is great to see a young brand that have achieved so many goals and is now ready to boost its international retail network. It seems that with this new release Venezianico is really on the right track.
