Forty-two millimetre is the new forty-five and thirty nine is the new forty-two when it comes to the size of this year’s watches.
But don’t tell Italian/Swiss watchmaker U-Boat, which has just unveiled beefed up versions of its Sommerso dive watch in hefty 56mm cases.
Oversized watches are nothing new to U-Boat fans; in fact they are part of the brand’s DNA.
U-Boat characterizes the latest Sommerso watches as professional diving instruments, water resistant to 300 meters, and they will certainly look in proportion when worn on the outside of a wet suit.
Both have black dials and uni-directional bezels in blue, black and green; or black and green.
Each reference is made in a limited run of 20 pieces.
They are worn on black vulcanised rubber straps.
