Tracey Llewellyn joins WATCHPRO

“We are assembling the biggest and most talented team of writers ever seen in the UK, and with Tracey at the helm we will expand WATCHPRO in ways that bring even more delight to our readers,” says WATCHPRO co-founder Daniel Malins.

Tracey Llewellyn is joining WATCHPRO as editor of the world-wide title.

WATCHPRO currently has three editions: for the UK, USA and German markets. A French edition is planned for later this year and versions for the Middle East and Asia will follow.

The title has also expanded its events business, launching WATCHPRO Salon and WATCHPRO Market in the past 12 months, along with a collectors’ club — WATCHPRO Club — which has held events for members in Monte Carlo and at the OAK Collection exhibition in London this month. WATCHPRO Awards, now in its seventh year, attracts more than 300 industry professionals to its gala dinner and ceremony.

The team has grown from the original co-founders, Mr Corder and Daniel Malins, to six full timers along with regular contributors including Robin Swithinbank, Simon de Burton and Tim Barber.

Rob Corder, co-founder of WATCHPRO, will work with Ms Llewellyn as editor-in-chief.

WATCHPRO.com attracts around half a million visitors per month, and close to 700,000 including the USA and German sites.

“WATCHPRO is the go-to title for industry insiders who want instant and up-to-the-minute access to the latest horological and trade news. As WATCHPRO continues to expand its print and online presence, as well as creating the first new watch fairs in recent times, no other watch title has the potential to reach such a wide audience,” Ms Llewellyn says.

“I am excited to be joining one of the most dynamic teams in watch journalism and to expand the readership to consumers, in addition to maintaining its position as the trade bible.”

“We are delighted to welcome Tracey to the team,” adds Mr Corder. “She brings something new and different to WATCHPRO with her in depth horological knowledge built up over a career working for some of the greatest titles in the world. We are in a hyper growth phase right now and will keep expanding the team so we can deliver more and better content, ideas and events.”

Ms Llewellyn has been a journalist for 27 years. Her first specialist role in the watch media was as deputy editor of QP Magazine, a position she held for five years before moving to Revolution as its UK editor-in-chief and later deputy global editorial director.

She is editor of the Horological Journal and Telegraph Time, the special report on watches by the Daily Telegraph, and will continue editing the two titles alongside WATCHPRO.

“We are assembling the biggest and most talented team of writers ever seen in the UK, and with Tracey at the helm we will expand WATCHPRO in ways that bring even more delight to our readers,” says Mr Malins.

“We stick to our founding purpose: to help the watch industry grow and become more successful, but now we do that by informing and entertaining both executives in the trade and the consumers they want to reach.”
