Tom Ford introduces N.004 timepiece

It also becomes the third instalment of the Tom Ford Ocean Plastic Timepieces series.

Tom Ford Timepieces has introduced the N.004, an extension of the brand which features a new case design.

It also becomes the third instalment of the Tom Ford Ocean Plastic Timepieces series.

Designers say the new launch is a progression from the simplicity of the N.003 Timepiece translated into a refined aesthetic that portrays both the structure and elegance of the classic 001.

To compliment the minimalist case design, the N.004 Timepiece dial is void of any numbers.

The N.004 features a smaller rectangular case design, measuring 27mm x 48.5mm, available in semi-matte black and white ocean plastic that was thoughtfully designed to allow for a unique and effortless interchange of straps that simply glide in-and-out of the case.

The watch includes a signature braid strap made from 100% ocean plastic and later this autumn, the N.004 collection will expand to include a recycled stainless-steel case.

The launch of the N.004 Timepiece, and the expansion of the Ocean Plastic Timepieces series, furthers Mr. Ford’s commitment to ocean health and brings awareness to the global plastic crisis.

Today, thin-film plastic makes up 46% of the approximately 14 million metric tons of plastic that sits on the ocean floor and is virtually impossible to extract.

The materials used to create the N.004 contain no virgin plastics or non-ocean bound plastics and is traceable to the collection source.

Every Tom Ford Ocean Plastic Timepiece purchased permanently removes the equivalent of 35 bottles of plastic waste from the ocean, with all packaging being recyclable.

This Swiss-made watch is developed and produced in partnership with suppliers who are equally committed to finding solutions to the world’s plastic problem.

To further this commitment to sustainability, in 2020, Tom Ford partnered with Lonely Whale to launch the Plastic Innovation Prize, the only global competition focused on creating scalable and biologically degradable alternatives to thin-film plastic.

Two products — single-use resealable sandwich storage bags and plastic polybags used by the fashion industry — represent over 300 billion thin-film plastic bags disposed of annually.

In March 2022, Tom Ford and Lonely Whale announced the eight Plastic Innovation Prize finalists who have entered a year-long material testing phase, sponsored by Nike, to ensure their materials are biologically degradable, minimize negative social and environmental impacts, meet industry performance standards, and are also cost-competitive, scalable and market-ready by 2025.

Launching August 3rd, 2022, the N.004 will be available at Tom Ford boutiques, tomford.com and select luxury department and jewellery stores worldwide.
