Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini Excalibur Huracàn watch blows into town

Three-hand hyper watch is housed in a 45mm titanium case with black DLC coating.

Roger Dubuis has unveiled a new Excalibur Spider watch made in collaboration with Lamborghini.

Limited to 88 pieces, the watch borrows design elements and engineering from the super car maker including its RD630 movement, which was developed specifically for the partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse.

“From your very first glance, you will notice that this impressive Monobalancier instantly transports you to the world of motorsport, while having a truly distinctive edge. The calibre is inspired by the shape of supercar air intakes, while the twin barrels, positioned between 5 and 7 o’clock, are another signature feature of the Maison’s Huracán watches,” Roger Dubuis says.

The automatic calibre is built with a twin barrel power supply, allowing it to reach a power reserve of 60 hours, and is built like a super car engine with strut-bars forming a clear and visible visual signature.

Its rotor is designed like a super car wheel rim and the dial appears to have scooped air intakes like the Huracàn’s air intakes.

The three-hand with date movement is housed in a 45mm titanium case with black DLC coating.

Turn the watch over and you will see an open case back with a metallized Excalibur Huracàn logo.

The watch’s quick release strap is almost as complex as its movement. The blue and red perforated strap has calfskin leather inlays and the exact pattern of a Pirelli Trofeo R tyre on the underside’s black rubber.

It is on sale now for £55,000.
