Ressence returns to primary colours for latest Type 1 watch

Ressence has been stretching the boundaries of its uniquely formulated combination of oil-filled watches displaying the time using rotating disks set into the dial.

We have seen skeletonization, marquetry, animations and myriad materials and colour combinations within the genre.

Today’s novelty comes in the Type 1 Round collection, and arrives with a burst of red, blue, yellow and green on a neutral grey background.

“With the TYPE 1° Round Multicolour, we further pursue our exploration in the realm of colours” says Benoît Mintiens, founder of Ressence.

“This watch embodies the principle of a functional colour palette, combining soft hues to create a visually pleasing and practical timepiece. I have long wanted to bring a colourful watch to the core collection. With this new piece owners are sure to make a strong and distinctive impression.”

In addition to the coloured disks, the numbers and indexes on the dial are painted white. The “hands” are also white, but with grey tips, all lit up with Superluminova at night.

The watch is controlled by the Ressence Orbital Convex System module with power and timing coming from a customized ETA 2892 base calibre.

The mechanism is housed in a 42.7 mm rounded case that stands just 11mm tall.

Sold on a light grey rubber strap, the TYPE 1° Round Multicolour is retailing for CHF16,800.
