Rare Rolex Space-Dweller And Cartier London Losange Watches Make Appearance At WatchPro Salon

WatchPro Salon has expanded onto a second floor at The Londoner Hotel for this year’s edition as a luxury Pre-Owned Lounge is added to the event.

The Lounge is sponsored by eBay, which is bringing transparency and trust to the secondary market for luxury timepieces.

Along with eBay’s own presentation, the Lounge will be home to prestigious pre-owned specialists including Bloombar, The Diamond Box, Trilogy Jewellers, Watches of Knightsbridge and Tempus Lord.

Every exhibitor will be on hand to speak with collectors and offer them vintage and contemporary watches from the likes of Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Omega, Patek Phillipe and Cartier.

The Diamond Box at Salon

The Diamond Box, which has been open in Finchley, North London, since 1977, has built its reputation as a family-run operation with three generations working in the business.

Highlights on display at Salon include:

Patek Philippe Annual Calander 40mm Brown Leather Strap 18ct Rose Gold 5205R 2016.

Rolex Day-Date Platinum 40mm Ice Blue Presidential 228206, 2020.

Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 41mm 18ct Rose Gold Black Kevlar 15210OR.OO, 2022.

Trilogy Jewellers at Salon

Visitors to Salon will have the chance to see an ultra-rare Rolex Space-Dweller on the Trilogy Jewellers stand.

Rolex quietly introduced the Space-Dweller watch in the 1960s as a rebranded Explorer 1016 released exclusively in the Japanese market.

It did not prove popular enough to merit a full production run, which makes it is one of the most elusive vintage Rolex watches ever made.

Typically trading for around £85,000, Trilogy Jewellers is delighted to be presenting this Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980 in Stainless Steel with a black dial among a line-up of rare and desirable watches.

Tempus Lord at Salon

Since launching in 2020, Tempus Lord has strived to provide its clients with unrivalled service and commitment for both watches and jewellery.

Based in the heart of the financial district in London, it buys, sells and sources watches from brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Cartier.

Star of the Tempus Lord presentation at Salon is this discontinued Patek 5960P Platinum Annual Calendar Chronograph with a sunburst slate grey dial.

It is currently being offered for £46,950.

Also discontinued is this Rolex 18ct gold Yachtmaster with a rare black Tahition mother of Pearl dial.

Visitors to Salon can see the piece in person. It is currently being advertised for £25,650.

Bloombar Watches

Bloombar Watches was created in 2012 with a mission to establish itself as a premium player in the luxury pre-owned watch market.

Watches currently offered for sale by Bloombar include this Rolex Daytona ref. 126518LN, listed online for £39,500

Watches of Knightsbridge

Watches of Knightsbridge will display an eclectic mix of rare, vintage and contemporary pre-owned watches from the likes of Patek Philippe, Tudor, Rolex and Cartier that are all going under the hammer at its upcoming fine watch auction on November 18.

Star of the Salon presentation and the WoK auction is this 1971 Cartier London Losange Elongated Octagonal wristwatch.

The extremely rare watch is thought to be one of only six known to exist.

Made in the revered Wright & Davies workshop owned by Cartier London at the time which produced some Cartier’s most iconic pieces such as the Crash and Pebble.

It goes to auction with an estimate of £80,000-120,000.

1990s Tudor “Big Block” Chronograph “School Watch” from the famous Ecole D’Horlogerie de Geneve.

These were project watches assigned to young watchmakers prior to them being employed by the brands.

Estimate £6,000-7,000.

A rare steel and gold Patek Philippe Nautilus, ref. 3800/001 from 1982.

The watch is sold with its original cork box and papers and was consigned by its original owner.

Estimate £20,000 – £30,000

A vintage Rolex Submariner, ref. 5508 from around 1958 with a gloss black gilt dial that is fading to tropical colour.

Estimate £15,000 – £20,000
