Phillips’s Hong Kong team has assembled its first cross-category auction of collectibles spanning art, watches and jewellery.
The auction, which is called Refresh:Reload, taps into a growing trend for collectors and investors to focus on more than one class of asset.
It also hopes to attract younger bidders that might arrive looking for inexpensive contemporary art and find themselves tempted by a Rolex Daytona.
“At Phillips we have also seen a great deal of cross-category collecting, and as collectors’ tastes continue to evolve globally, we are excited to present this online-only sale,” says Delissa Handoko, head of online sales, Hong Kong, Phillips.
“Curated in two complementary parts: Refresh embodies a more romantic and lighthearted aesthetic, bringing together colourful and fun contemporary artworks alongside elegant jewellery and timepieces. The second half of the sale, Reload will see cutting-edge jewellery and watches offered alongside fresh, trend-setting art, editions and collectibles.”
The sale includes 180 lots. Bidding opens on May 20 at 5pm HKT and will begin closing on 28 May at 10pm HKT.
