Perrelet’s latest creation is the Turbine United, the brand’s tribute to the United States of America.
The refreshed design and upgraded mechanics of “Turbine United” are closely related to the Turbine EVO, a collection launched in 2019 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Perrelet’s Turbine Technology.
Perrelet’s signature Turbine Technology is the motor behind the rotating blades animating the brand’s famous dials.
From the Double Rotor to the peripheral oscillating weight in the LAB collection and the hypnotic Turbine, the spectacle on the dial of Perrelet’s timepieces is guaranteed.
With spinning blades that respond to the slightest movement of the wrist, the Turbine produces a fascinating optical effect revealing glimpses of the lower dial decorated with different motifs.
This original and exclusive model limited to just 25 pieces, which will appeal to enthusiasts of beautiful mechanical watches with a dynamic presence, can be bought at authorised retailers in the US.
The Turbine United comes in a 44mm stainless steel case which is 13.82mm in height with alternating brushed and polished finishings and is water-resistant to depths of 50 metres.
The case middle is decorated with a new, wider style of vertical fluting, which extends to the integrated crown at 3 o’clock and contrasts with the flat, polished bezel and the new, more compact lugs.
The name of the watch refers to the United States, and the bond is highlighted with the colours of the American flag with a prevalence of red, white and blue.
Designers describe the protagonist of the model is its lower dial decorated with alternating red, white, and starry blue rays. Thanks to the rotation of the 12 black anodised aluminium blades, the famous Stars and Stripes of the American flag depicted on the dial beneath the Turbine appear.
Another spectacle occurs in the dark when the stars and the white stripes of the flag glow with luminescent material. The hours and indices appear on a raised, matte black flange surrounded by the peripheral blue minutes track with white Arabic numerals at 5-minute intervals.
Consulting the time is straightforward, and thanks to the use of luminescent material on the applied rhodium-plated indices and hands, legibility in any light conditions will never be an issue.
It is powered by Perrelet’s second-generation P-331-MH, an in-house automatic calibre which has both COSC and Chronofiable chronometry certification, guaranteeing the maximum reliability and precision of the movement powering this timepiece.
The sapphire crystal case back allows a view of the refined finishings and the open-worked rhodium-plated oscillating weight personalised with the logo of the House.
The porthole, printed with the words “TURBINE LIMITED – Limited Edition – A4062/S1 – 01/25”, is held in place by a ring with the same fluting as the case sides.
To complete the package, the Turbine United comes with a black rubber strap with a steel pin buckle customised with the Perrelet logo.
