The watch industry hasn’t known if it was coming or going when it comes to physical events this year.
Dubai Watch Week and WATCHPRO Salon itself were a breath of fresh air at the back end of last year and highlighted to all why physical events had grown to become so important in the first place.
As we move slowly but surely into end game COVID, it’s allowed the new Geneva watch event, Time to Watches, to move forward.
It does so too with the support of Watches and Wonders which has confirmed its original schedule.
Organisers expect to grow to 30 or so brands, with Corum, Sinn, MeisterSinger, Louis Erard, Reservoir, Chronoswiss, Raketa, L’Epée 1839, L.Leroy, Mauron Musy, Pierre deRoche, Schwarz Etienne, Perrelet and Pequignet already being confirmed.
Organisers went on to explain that as a cornerstone of the Time to Watches brand, a programme of conferences and round tables is being set up to animate the four days of the event, in both short and interactive formats.
In doing so, Time to Watches could also confirm the participation of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in its programme of conferences and round tables, with the objective of sharing this high added value content.
Organised by Marc Angebault and Christian Wipfli, the duo say they hope Time to Watches can “bring together quality, independent and creative brands, from Switzerland and beyond, at the heart of the Spring 2022 Geneva watch industry event.”
