Luminox joins space race with Lynx orbiter deal

Luminox has revealed that its watches will be worn by the astronauts and passengers of the SXC suborbital spacecraft, the Lynx, which will take tourists to the edge of space as soon as 2014.

A new series of timepieces that can withstand the G-Forces and weightlessness of suborbital flight are currently in development and will be available for the commercial spaceflights when they begin next year.

Barry Cohen, Founder of Luminox says he is extremely proud to become a part of this special project. “Currently our product line is broken into three segments – Sea, Air and Land, but with this partnership, we will be introducing the fourth dimension – Space, early next year. At this moment, our engineers are working closely with the technical staff at SXC to develop a unique timepiece for unique circumstances.”
