Longines trims Spirit Zulu dual timer down to 39mm

A sense of adventure, captured in travel timers and pilot watches have always been at the heart of Longines’ story.

The first Longines Spirit Zulu Time dual timer, launched last year in a statement 42mm size became an instant hit for the brand.

Demand could be even hotter now that the watch has been trimmed to a more modern 39mm in time for this summer.

A sense of adventure, captured in travel timers and pilot watches have always been at the heart of Longines’ story.

The bi-colour gold and steel Spirit Zulu Time is a welcome new chapter in that story, which traces its origins back to the maker’s first dual time zone wristwatch from 1925, which featured the Zulu flag on its dial — Zulu being the phonetic alphabet’s letter Z, which denotes universal time for aviators and the armed forces.

It houses a manufacture-made, COSC-certified, automatic GMT movement with a silicon balance spring that is impervious to magnetic interference and has three days of power reserve.

The range goes on sale today on a leather strap for £2,800. The steel bracelet piece is £2,900. Bi-colour costs £3,950 on a bracelet and £3,850 on the leather strap.
