Ladies watches have always sat at the confluence of jewellery, art and horology. Now Alexander Shorokhoff is adding a new element to its collection of Shar watches: poetry.
The spherical watches, according to the maker, exist in a world where time twists and twirls and creativity unfurls.
They catch the eye immediately with their shape, and keep attention with the craftsmanship of engraving in their dials.
They come in 25mm diameter cases that, despite their shape, nestle comfortably on the wrist. A single screw holds the case back in place to protect the miniature automatic three-hander with date movements.
Examples come in steel or gold on a range of elegant leather straps and optional linked bracelets.
There are also myriad choices for dial treatments and gem setting on the cases.
“Handcrafted with love and patient art, the Shar watch is a masterpiece that touches the heart. Mechanics, engravings, and size so fine, merge into a work of art, truly divine,” Alexander Shorokhoff says poetically.
The watchmaker has created a broad range of options, including gem-set pieces, but entry level steel and gold-treated models sell for €1830.
