London Watch Show Q&A: Bulova

The London Watch Show, the UK’s only dedicated trade exhibition for the UK watch business, will open its doors for the first time at the Freemasons Hall in July. As the exhibition grows closer, WatchPro, as official media partner to the show, will help you get to know the watch brands exhibiting there that bit better. Today we fire some questions at American watch house Bulova.

WatchPro: Can you describe the Bulova brand in one line?
Bulova: Design and style, enhanced by technology, accuracy and innovation.

WP: What is the most iconic timepiece in Bulova’s collection?
B: Bulova Precisionist Chronograph – the world’s most advanced chronograph with a continuously sweeping second hand. Accurate to 10 seconds a year. Precision timing to 1/1000th second. 12 hour chronograph function.

WP: Who buys Bulova watches?
B: Male and female consumers that like their watches to be noticed and appreciate design and style, innovation, accuracy and the very best technology.

WP: What sort of retailers is Bulova interested in working with?
B: Bulova plans to build upon existing relationships and forge new long-term partnerships to experience and benefit from the ongoing success of the brand. Bulova is experiencing unprecedented growth in the UK market through its unique and proprietary Precisionist, Diamond and Mechanical collections, as well as its innovative marketing campaigns. Bulova wants to collaborate with the industries finest and like-minded retailers to realise the unlimited potential of the brand and satisfy consumer demand in the UK.

WP: What new watches will buyers see on Bulova’s stand at the London Watch Show?
B: The Precisionist Chronograph Wilton collection. A classic take on the hugely successful Precisionist Chronograph Champlain. And the introduction of a new ladies diamond collection…

WP: What are Bulova’s plans for the UK market in 2013 and beyond?
B: Bulova plans to build on its history of innovation and accuracy by developing its proprietary Precisionist technology. This includes introducing brand new men’s and ladies lines to create a wider collection to cater for the UK consumer demand. The introduction of some stylish Bulova Diamond collections will reiterate Bulova’s commitment to superior design and quality. Using these unique selling propositions, Bulova aims to work with like minded retailers to increase its distribution in the UK to meet the demand of consumers.

WP: What is the Bulova team’s favourite time of the day?
B: The Bulova team’s favourite time is eight o’clock (AM). In 1926 Bulova introduced America’s first national radio commercial, signalling the hour with “At the tone, it’s eight o’clock, B-U-L-O-V-A Watch Time”.
