Fossil Group’s Zodiac has created a special edition World Time watch for Hodinkee’s Shop carrying the livery of Pan Am, the leading airline of the emerging jet-set age of the 1950s and 60s, a time when the watchmaker was also setting the pace with its mechanical timekeepers.
“In that era Zodiac was not only dedicated to the precision and craftsmanship associated with Swiss timekeeping, but also to creating innovative designs that inspired wearers to step outside of their comfort zone and explore the world,” recalls Zodiac brand director TJ McKnight.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with such an iconic brand that shares our passion for quality, service, style, and innovation. Together with [licensor] Pan Am Brands, we hope to inspire a new generation to travel and discover new worlds and cultures with this dynamic, vintage- inspired timepiece,” he adds.
The 40mm Zodiac World Time GMT has a white dial with the Pan Am Globe logo framed by a world time outer ring and rotating bezel with 24 global cities in Pan Am’s signature blue.
The watch is powered by a Swiss-made Soprod C-125 movement and is limited to only 182 units sold in a custom packaged box set that includes a secondary lamb utility strap with polished stainless steel buckle and silk Pan Am label with white embroidering.
It went on sale last week for $1795 and still has availability on Hodinkee’s Shop.
