Junghans keeps an eye on both speed and distance

Taking inspiration from a 1951 chronograph, Junghans has created this beautiful vintage piece with scales for calculating both speed and distance.

The 40mm Meister Telemeter Uhrenfabrik features both the tachymeter and telemeter scales, which have been a familiar feature on models from the German watch manufacturer for decades.
Junghans first developed stopwatches with integrated tachymeter scales in the 1930s and then launched its first wristwatch chronographs featuring both scales on the same piece in 1951, allowing calculation of both speed and distance.

Twin chronograph registers sit at the three and nine o’clock positions with scales following the minute scale around the outside of the dial.
The watch houses a J880.3 automatic movement and features a screwed-down exhibition caseback, Sicralan-coated convex Plexiglass, water resistance to three atmospheres and a saddle leather strap and steel buckle.

The Meister Telemeter Uhrenfabrik will also be available in versions with a metal bracelet and a yellow gold PVD coated case and will be priced between £1,950 and £2,000.
