Bond Street took on the atmosphere of a Hollywood blockbuster movie premiere this week as Oscar winners and supermodels were papped on their way to the reopening of Chopard’s flagship store on London’s most luxurious thoroughfare.
Chopard co-presidents Caroline and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele were in town for the ribbon-cutting, along celebrity friends including Marion Cotillard, Julianne Moore, Christoph Waltz, Colin Firth and Araya Hargate.
The new store is designed to make the world’s well-healed feel like they are entering a sumptuous London townhouse — a true family home, as Chopard describes it.
It also adopts some carefully considered environmentally sensitive techniques in its design including the use of locally sourced, sustainable, materials. The choices are part of Chopard’s Journey to Sustainable Luxury mission.
Chopard used the re-opening to launch a limited edition, UK-only, version of its ultra-thin L.U.C XPS 1860 model featuring an officer-type case-back, that is named the L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Royal Arms of England.
