That said, as a baseball super fan, leading the brand’s marketing into Major League Baseball rightfully deserves an honorable mention in terms of what VJ has achieved in his role as chief executive of Oris in North America.

Working as part of a small team, VJ’s day-to-day role involves dealing with all aspects of the organization, including sales, marketing, distribution and finance.

He comments: “I draw great satisfaction from having the ability to directly affect the success of the organization. Oris is a 118-year-old independent watch brand that only makes mechanical watches, which is rare in today’s market. I love being independent, because we don’t have a lot of corporate red tape, and can act with the luxury of common sense.”

During the pandemic, Oris put in a lot of effort to stay engaged with the watch enthusiast community, rapidly pivoting to virtual engagement.

In many cases, Oris became the catalyst for many watch groups’ first virtual get togethers.

On how the company continues to flourish as we put covid behind us, VJ comments: “We want to continue our record growth in the US market, especially among high-end retailers. We are making major investments in product, advertising and events, while continuing our unparalleled engagement with the watch community.”

Outside of work, VJ enjoys spending time with family and is an avid skier, baseball and Yankees fan, and lover of all types of music.
