HOT 100 BRAND CHAMPIONS: Jeffrey Cohen — Citizen Watch America Group

Jeffrey Cohen’s methods are evolving, with digital and data front and center of his priorities.

Everybody enjoys heading to a rooftop terrace for some fresh air and to take in the views, but few have the privilege of calling the Empire State Building home, at least for the office.

That is precisely what Jeffrey Cohen is able to do if he takes the lift to the 86th floor above the Citizen Watch America (CWA) office in the iconic Manhattan skyscraper.

Citizen-owned Bulova has been a long term tenant at the Empire State Building, but the rest of the group’s brands — Alpina, Frederique Constant, Accutron and Citizen — moved in more recently.

We are a data-driven organization and know more about our end consumers than ever before.

The office was forced to close for four months at the beginning of the pandemic, but is now back open with the team working four days at their desks and one day from home.

Before covid, Jeffrey might have thought he had seen it all during a 40-year career in the watch industry, which began with a regional sales rep role for Movado.

By the time he joined Citizen in 2010, he had risen through the ranks at Movado to become brand president.

His mission and management statement has barely changed over the decades.

“Work hard, drive change, adapt to new market realities, embrace diversity, and build the best brand profiles and stories in the watch industry,” he advises.

His methods are evolving, with digital and data front and center of his priorities.

“I hope to continue to evolve our digital experience,” he says.

“We are a data-driven organization and know more about our end consumers than ever before. We will continue to unlock the power of insights to enable business growth, take additional market share and stay ahead of the curve in the watch industry in all of CWA Group’s markets.”
