Guess joins growing band of watch businesses offering contactless payment chips in their straps

Barclays bPay chips allow people to wear fashionable analogue watches that can make instant payments up to £30.

Guess has become the latest watch business to offer contactless payments from Barclays bPay built into the straps of its popular fashion watches.

The company also offers a range of full touchscreen smartwatches running Wear OS by Google.

Incorporating bPay chips into straps allows Guess to focus on its USP of hitting all the right fashion notes while adding the desirable feature of contactless payments.

In the UK, bPay allows for payments of up to £30 at what have become almost universally used contactless POS terminals.

Those payments are transmitted and recorded on a smartphone app.

Watches in the Guess Contactless collection include men’s and women’s models with leather and silicon straps. Prices range from £119 to £219.
