Swatch is set to reignite MoonSwatch mania tomorrow with an announcement teased as “Mission to Moonshine Gold” on its social media channels.
A brief video on Swatch’s Instagram feed yesterday lists four locations and times, presumably for announcements about new MoonSwatch models.
Swatch’s UK team has not commented on what is planned, and no invitations to the press appear to have been issued.
London is hosting one of the four events around the world at The Royal Exchange, just opposite the Bank of England.

Given the hysteria that Swatch ignited last year with the first launch of its MoonSwatch collection, it is possible that the teaser on Instagram could trigger a stampede to the venue.
The Royal Exchange could be appropriate location given the Bank of England stores Britain’s gold reserves, and everything about the teaser points to gold being central to the announcement.
Moonshine Gold is a trademarked alloy used by Omega that was first seen in a special Speedmaster created in 2019 to mark the 50th anniversary of the moon landings.
The alloy is slightly paler than normal 18ct gold, and is said by Omega to be inspired by shining moonlight in a dark blue sky.
A MoonSwatch made to look like that anniversary watch, based on the design of the Speedmaster BA145.022 chronograph, might have a pale golden-coloured dial and case and bracelet made from the same bioceramic as all 2022 MoonSwatches.
By the time of simultaneous MoonSwatch events in Switzerland, Italy and London tomorrow (March 7), hysteria may already be at fever pitch because news will first break in Japan, which has its reveal scheduled for 6.30pm JST, which is 9.30am in the UK.
