Girard-Perregaux extends its partnership with Aston Martin

The three-year collaboration between the high-end watch brand and legendary car company is set to continue.

Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux and British racing icon Aston Martin announced the extension of their three-year partnership yesterday.

Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin’s Executive Chairman, and Patrick Pruniaux, Girard-Perregaux’s CEO, signed an agreement to continue the alliance that celebrates creativity and excellence in both luxury watches and high-performance automobiles.

The journey began in January 2021, when the companies joined forces as Global Partners. Over the past three years, they have collaborated on five limited-edition watches, symbolising the shared values of design, engineering, and innovation.

Despite the vastly different scales of Formula 1 cars, road cars, and luxury watches, Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin have demonstrated that their values resonate in every creation, forming a powerful synergy.

The collaboration kicked off during Girard-Perregaux’s 230th-anniversary celebrations and Aston Martin’s return to Formula 1, resulting in a series of watches that celebrate the craftsmanship and innovation of both brands. Beyond the physical parallels between cars and watches, the partnership also highlighted their mutual clientele.

The five limited-edition watches, including the Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges Aston Martin Edition and the Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition, showcased the intertwining technologies of both companies. For instance, the Laureato Absolute Chronograph AM F1 Edition featured composite materials derived from the Aston Martin Formula 1 car.

As the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team experienced significant improvements, securing seven podium placements and a fifth-place finish in the Constructors’ World Championship during the 2023 season, the collaboration reached new heights. The upcoming AMR24 car, set to be unveiled on February 12, promises to continue the team’s success in the 2024 Formula 1 season.

With both companies on an upward trajectory, the renewed partnership reflects a shared vision and ambition. Girard-Perregaux, regaining independence two years ago, sees the collaboration as an integral part of shaping its future.

Aston Martin, represented by Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President, and Chief Creative Officer, expresses excitement for the continued journey, emphasising the joy in intertwining creative personalities and pushing the boundaries of design.

As both companies embark on the next chapter of their alliance, the commitment to exceeding client expectations remains unwavering with promises to deepen the creative partnership with high-concept watches that stand the test of time.
