Dior creative director brings couture style to gold and diamond watches

Victoire de Castellane, the creative director of Dior Jewellery and Watches, has put her name to a couture-level reinvention of the La D de Dior timepiece.

Victoire de Castellane, the creative director of Dior Jewellery and Watches, has put her name to a couture-level reinvention of the La D de Dior timepiece.

The quartz-based white or pink gold 38mm watches use hand-engraving to create the look and texture of lace on gold velvet.

Their bezels, hands and buckles are finely set with diamonds. Set in the shape of a flower, the crown echoes the patterns on the dial, while the silk taffeta strap pays tribute to couture fashion.

“These pieces take us right into the heart of exceptional jewellery-making know-how and Victoire de Castellane’s creative and poetic universe,” the LVMH-owned fashion house says.

Each watch has 182 VVS diamonds totalling aproximately 3.34 carats.

Prices have not been disclosed for the watches, which will go on sale at Dior’s own boutiques in London, plus Harrods and Selfridges.
