De Bethune is marking the first day of Wimbledon, the UK’s historic tennis major, with the unveiling of American professional Tommy Paul as a brand ambassador and the release of a version of its DB28 watch in the colours of the All England Club in London’s SW19.
26-year-old Mr Paul is currently ranked 17th in the world, having broken into the top 20 at the start of 2023 after reaching his first Grand Slam semi-final and his first ATP 500 final.
Signing the American rising star is the first move into the expensive world of sports sponsorship since De Bethune was bought by Philadelphia-based WatchBox.
The 39mm titanium De Bethune DB28 LTC has a rippling green guilloche dial circled by a purple hours ring decorated with miniature tennis courts in white and has a gold-toned titanium 3D tennis ball circling at 12 o’clock.
It is powered by a hand-finished manufacture DB2005 hand-wound movement with six day power reserve.
