Tonight we toast the very best teams and executives in the British watch industry at the WatchPro Awards.

Tomorrow and Saturday, WatchPro Salon opens with a showcase of 40 independent watch brands and expert vintage and pre-owned watch specialists under one roof.

The Awards are all about honouring the achievements of the past year.

Salon is about the future: introducing exciting watch brands to retailers, press and the public.

You can browse online for images and information for every watch ever made, but many of the brands are showing new collections that would not otherwise be seen in the metal in this country.

Not only can you see these inspiring timepieces, in many cases you can also meet the makers who have brought them to market.

Adding the Pre-Owned Lounge to this year’s Salon, in partnership with eBay, brings a new dimension to the event, and recognises how much today’s collectors are as fascinated by historic watches as they are in what is new and innovative.

Among the highlights in the Pre-Owned Lounge are an extremely rare Rolex Space-Dweller, made only for the Japanese market in the 1960s, a discontinued Patek 5960P Platinum Annual Calendar Chronograph with a sunburst slate grey dial and a 1971 Cartier London Losange Elongated Octagonal wristwatch.

WatchPro Salon is a show with rigorous security measures in place, so we encourage visitors to book tickets in advance so that we can speed them through checks on the door.

However, the show also welcomes walk-ups on the day, particularly the public day on Saturday.
