Coin Parking Delivery decorates timeless Seiko 5 Sports

The collaboration watch’s 42.5mm case and bracelet are based on those of the iconic SKX, while the dial is designed without numbers to be “unbounded by time”.

Seiko is continuing to use its 5 Sports watch as a canvas for interesting collaborations, and one of its first limited editions models for 2023 features characters from up-and-coming multimedia Japanese artist Coin Parking Delivery.

The Japanese artist protects his identity by wearing childish masks and costumes.

His or her first work was created on a mobile phone back in 2018 and became a social media phenomenon.

The art raises awareness of social, cultural and political issues using animated characters, such as Shirai-san and Katayama-san, which appear on the Seiko 5 Sports limited edition.

According to the artist, Shirai-san is a character that represents a moment in time, and Katayama-san is Shirai-san’s friend/lover/acquaintance.

The collaboration watch’s 42.5mm case and bracelet are based on those of the iconic SKX, while the dial is designed without numbers to be “unbounded by time”.

On the dial, the indexes include Coin Parking Delivery’s iconic Mr Shirai at 12 o’clock and Mr Katayama at 6.

The artist’s eNrOll graphic, inspired by the eyes and mouth that deliver human emotions, is also set on the dial.

The dial’s background is designed with a mountain graphic, which symbolises “climbing through life one step at a time.”

The watch is offered as a limited edition of 1,500 with the Coin Parking Delivery signature on the case back.

It is sold in a special Coin Parking Delivery box for £380.
