Chrono24, the world’s biggest online marketplace for watches, is heading to London to meet collectors and enthusiasts.
The invitation-only “Get-Together” is the first of its kind by Chrono24 apart from a trial event at the company’s headquarters in Karlsruhe, Germany, earlier this year.
“We want to create some time and comfortable space to present and to talk about interesting timepieces and watch collections. Besides this, we will have two interesting presentations about watch collecting, details of certain movements, and more,” says Tanja Mayer, head of content marketing at Chrono24.
Among the presenters at the gathering, which takes place on July 20 in Central London, will be Roger Smith, OBE, widely considered Britain’s greatest contemporary watchmaker.
On a visit to Chrono24 this week, WatchPro heard from CEO Tim Stracke that the marketplace now sees transactions worth €1.2 billion per year. It has around 2500 active professional dealers that use the site, and over 10,000 private sellers from over 100 countries.
