Swiss manufacturer Chopard acted as main partner and official timekeeper to the first Coppa Delle Alpi by Mille Miglia winter rally race, releasing a new collection to mark the occasion.
Chopard has been involved in the traditional Mille Miglia – a 1,000-mile endurance race with classic cars – since 1988.
However, this year it enjoyed the elevated position as main partner and official timekeeper of the inaugural Mille Miglia winter race.
To commemorate the occasion, Chopard’s boutique in St Moritz played host to a cocktail party on day three, showing off its latest collection, Alpine Eagle.
The Alpine Eagle collection, Chopard says, reinvents its St Moritz watch.
The timepieces aim to capture the beauty of the Alps as well as the eagles that call the mountains home.
Made of ultra-resistant Lucent Steel A223, the range is boasts a Chopard movement with automatic winding.
Additionally, a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL bore the Chopard colours at the starting line.
Nino Margiotta and Guido Urbini drove a 1947 Volvo PV 444 to victory, winning two Alpine Eagle timepieces with Bernina grey dials.
The four-day, 1,200-mile race takes in much of the Alps, entering Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and started in Brescia on December 4, 2019.
