Changing of the guard at the top of Audemars Piguet

First CEO François-Henry Bennahmias confirmed that he will leave Audemars Piguet in 2023 after ten years at the helm. Now Jasmine Audemars, the family matriarch of the privately-owned watchmaker, has announced she will step down from her role as chairwoman of the board this year.

In the same statement, AP has announced that Alessandro Bogliolo, CEO of Tiffany & Co. until 2021, will join the board and take over as chairman on November 11.

Mr Bogliolo, aged 57, is Italian but has lived in New York since 2017. As well as his time running Tiffany, he also held management positions at Bulgari for 16 years in Singapore, Italy and the United States.

It is assumed that his number one priority will be appointing a CEO to take over from Mr Bennahmias.

Ms Audemars will retain the chairmanship of the AP Foundation, which oversees philanthropy and the running of the watchmaker’s museum.

“These past 30 years at the helm of Audemars Piguet have been a unique and enriching experience thanks to the enthusiasm and professionalism of all AP staff who have successfully contributed to building AP’s current success,” Ms Audemars says.

“I look forward to keeping in touch, even if it’s from slightly more afar, since I will remain Chairwoman of the AP Foundation. We still have many great things to accomplish,” she adds.
