Today, Laurent Ferrier introduces the latest in its “Série Atelier”: the Classic Micro-Rotor Magnetic Green.
For the fourth time, the brand is interrupting regular production to thank the community of collectors that have supported Laurent Ferrier since its early days.
Because of the global problem of demand outstripping supply for certain in-demand manufacturers and models, Laurent Ferrier launched the Série Atelier to help the most reactive of its followers to get access to a limited edition watch within 60 days.
These direct-to-consumer watches – following a buying process similar to that of Speedy Tuesday – are made in limited editions and shipped direct to the lucky few buyers within 40 days of purchase.
This latest piece uses the same magnetic green dial hue that has previously been used on the Classic Traveller. The dual finishes on the face create a sunburst effect with clever shade shifts in different light conditions. The applied white-gold teardrop indices are in white gold. The sunken small seconds at 6 o’clock features a snailed pattern, slate grey markings and a slim baton hand
Housed in a particularly tactile, 40mm grade 5 titanium pebble-shaped case in grade 5 titanium with polished sides, bezel and lugs, the watch is four times lighter than a similar model in white gold.
Powering the piece is Laurent Ferrier’s FBN 229.01 calibre with natural escapement and signature unidirectional micro-rotor in 18-carat gold. Thanks to the double direct impulse escapement on the balance the movement has an impressive power reserve of 72 hours.
The exhibition caseback provides a full view of the circular-graining, hand-bevelling, guilloché, horizontal satin-brushed and mirror-polished finishes that Laurent Ferrier is renowned for.
