A Breguet Grand Complications Tourbillon will be one of the most south after, as well as vintage Cartier, collectable Omega and iconic Tudor watches all to go under the hammer.

Watches of Knightsbridge will offer a selection of rare timepieces in its upcoming auction this May.

Held on the 14th, a Breguet Grand Complications Tourbillon will be one of the most south after, as well as vintage Cartier, collectable Omega and iconic Tudor watches all to go under the hammer.

With 229 lots on offer the auction has a wide range of collector’s watches some of which highlighted below:

Lot 6 – Estimate £15,000-20,000 plus buyer’s premium
Breguet
Breguet Grand Complications Tourbillion ref. 3350 in 18k solid gold, circa 1990s.

Breguet is starting to appear on collectors radar due to a number reasons, one of which is the recent history of its revival during the 1980s with the help of Daniel Roth, and secondly the watches have become excellent value for money watches on the pre-owned and auction market.

This example is the first series Tourbillion produced by Breguet and features a beautifully decorated movement which can be seen through the exhibition case back.

Lot 44 – Estimate £8,000-12,000 plus buyer’s premium
Cartier1
Rare ladies Cartier London Baignoire in 18k solid gold, circa 1971.

Vintage Cartier is very hot right now with collectors really turning their attention to some of many of the amazing models Cartier have produced over the decades.

The Cartier London watches are considered by many as the pinnacle of collecting Cartier and this is a fine example with an extremely seldom seen original 18k solid gold chain link bracelet that featured on very few Cartier London pieces.

Lot 127 – Estimate £8,000-10,000 plus buyer’s premium
Omega
Omega Speedmaster Apollo XIII 25th Anniversary Limited Edition of 999 pieces, from 1996.

We all know Speedmasters are addictive. The Apollo 13’s are one of the most sought-after of the Speedmaster “Missions” Limited Editions.

This example was was only worn a handful of times from new and comes as a complete set which will attract a lot of attention from the Speedmaster collectors.

Lot 158 – Estimate £5,000-7,000 plus buyer’s premium
Tudor
Very rare Tudor Ranger ref. 7995/0, circa 1969.

Tudor did not produce that many original Ranger watches over the decades. This particular example is one of the rarest and most sought-after as it is described at the non-date rose dial version in the exact configuration as the new Tudor Ranger was inspired by.

The watch has remained in excellent original condition.

Lot 161 – Estimate £8,000-10,000 plus buyer’s premium
Tudor1
Tudor Snowflake Submariner blue ref. 94110 from 1980

The Tudor Snowflake Submariner is arguably Tudor most famous model, originally produced in collaboration with the French Military Marine Nationale. This example is in excellent original condition.

Lot 198 – Estimate £12,000-15,000 plus buyer’s premium

Vacheronconstantin
Vacheron Constantin Overseas in 18k solid gold, ref. 42042, circa 2000s.

Vacheron Constantin is pleasing many collectors of late with particular focus on the Overseas models and 222. The Overseas model can be compared to the likes of AP’s Royal Oak and PP Nautilus although some would argue is not at the same level from a design perspective.

However, these watches are relatively good value, accessible and no one can question their quality. This example is a seldom seen 42042 made in the early 2000s in 18k solid gold with leather strap.
