Few can claim 240 years experience producing chiming timepieces, but Breguet can do precisely that, with Abraham Louis Breguet creating his first minute repeater in 1783.
The complication has been perfected ever since, and is usually found nowadays in Breguet’s most complex pieces.
That changes today with the introduction of the Breguet Classique 7637 Répétition Minutes with a startlingly simple mirror-finished black grand feu enamel dial.
Minimalism leaves the watch with nowhere to hide any imperfections, of which there are none on a dial decorated merely with white Breguet numerals and golden hours and minutes hands.
The 42mm 18ct rose gold watch has a slim bezel to give the black enamel dial room to breathe, and a crystal case back exposing the exquisitely decorated hand-wound Calibre 567.2 minute repeater movement with gongs made from gold.
The watch is also available in white gold, with a blue grand feu enamel dial and matching alligator leather strap.
