Vintage Baume & Mercier watch gifted by Elvis Presley to headline Bonhams online sale

This watch coming to auction was gifted to actress Dodie Marshall by Elvis Presley in 1967 after the filming of Easy Come, Easy Go.

Bonhams Fine Watches online sale, set to take place on April 20-30, will showcase a vintage Baume & Mercier 14k gold and diamond moon shape watch, circa 1967.

This watch was gifted to actress Dodie Marshall by Elvis Presley in 1967 after the filming of Easy Come, Easy Go.

The unusual asymmetric design, reminiscent of a crescent moon, is engraved on the caseback ‘From Elvis Presley to Dodie Marshall my great treasure my greatest love Elvis’.

Presley gave the watch to Marshall as a token of affection for her and she went on to wear it for many years.

The watch has remained in the ownership of Dodie Marshall and is being offered from her private estate. The timepiece has an estimate of $4,000-6,000 (£3,169-£4,754).

Nate Borgelt, head of Bonhams US watches department, commented: “Bonhams New York Fine Watches online sale includes some important and sought after lots, the timepiece gifted by Elvis Presley to co-star Dodie Marshall is an exciting watch to come to market for the first time.

“The wristwatch is dedicated to Dodie on the back of the watch as well as on the screen actors guild charm on the bracelet.

“The piece has great provenance coming from the private estate of Dodie Marshall. Additionally, the sale includes a rare Rolex Daytona Cosmograph ‘Paul Newman’ reference 6262/6239 watch, circa 1972, produced in limited numbers, it is a rarity for both timepieces to come to auction and we hope they garner much attention and excitement among horologist enthusiasts.”
