Bear Grylls puts his name to mountaineer watches for Luminox

Watches take inspiration from one of Mr Grylls earliest expeditions: summiting Mount Everest 25 years ago in 1998 when he was only 23-years-old and just 18 months after breaking his back in a parachuting accident.

Luminox has worked with survival expert and brand ambassador Bear Grylls on three additions to its 3730 Mountain core collection plus a special limited edition.

The watches take inspiration from one of Mr Grylls earliest expeditions: summiting Mount Everest 25 years ago in 1998 when he was only 23-years-old and just 18 months after breaking his back in a parachuting accident.

The new Swiss quartz-based Mountain watches, which have Mr Gryll’s moto “Never Give Up” inscribed on their dials, come with black dials enhanced with green or limited-edition blue outer rings that match the colors of integrated straps.

The limited edition has a white dial with a deep blue strap and a red crown; the color combination of the Nepalese flag.

Its case back is decorated with Mount Everest in relief and the outer ring is marked with “8848M” – the altitude of Mt Everest. 800 will be made.
