A. Lange & Söhne’s Lange 1 has been at the centre of the brand’s soaring success over recent years and, like every great collection, it comes with a broad choice of complications and styles.
Top of the tree are the perpetual calendar with moon phase models, which first appeared in 2021 in white gold with a salmon dial and in pink gold with a silver dial.
Joining the collection this month is a platinum-cased piece with a black dial.
The offer is the same in each case: a 41.9mm watch with an offset dial, moonphase and small seconds at 8 o’clock, weekdays to the left, month’s circling the perimeter of the face and a classic Lange big date at 11 o’clock.
Mechanically all calendar indications switch instantaneously so they are always in agreement. Set correctly, the watch will display the correct date until the end of this century.
The moonphase will be right for another 122 years.
The watch is powered by sophisticated Lange’s calibre L021.3, which is elaborately finished by hand and assembled twice.
It is wound by an 18ct gold rotor that can be enjoyed thanks to the watch’s exhibition case back.
