Movements aside, BWG Bavarian’s watch offering does not use any stock parts, with many of the components made by hand in small series.
As part of that, BWG Bavaria can also offer bespoke solutions as an option while managing to ensure the price tag does not become excessive.
Founded in Munich in 2022, the watches are made in Germany with a Swiss movement and in terms of design, have been inspired by the Bavarian culture, architecture, landscapes, as well as the Munich Art Scene.
The construction of the watches are made with the most advanced CAD systems, which allows to design compact, flat watches which are also extremely robust.
In terms of the actual product offering, it comprises the BWG Bavaria and the BWG Isaria.
The Bavaria series was originally designed in 2018 and took about 3 years to develop with the result being a flat, but very robust, all-purpose watch with two dial designs.
One is elegant without numbers, while the other is a more sportive version with numbers. Both designs come in three colours; glacier white, slate black and royal Bavarian blue.
All Bavaria models are equipped with a finely made rehaut which works as a tachometer in royal Bavarian blue. This detail extends the dial to a three-dimensional one and adds an interesting contrast to white and black watch face.
It comes on interchangeable silicone sport straps, handmade leather and textile straps in many varieties, plus metal mesh straps.
The Bavaria 2018 is watertight up to 100m and the crystal is a scratch resistant sapphire.
The movement is a Swiss made Ronda 705 repairable mechanical quartz movement with extended maintenance intervals.
The Isaria on the other hand is a multipurpose sports watch with diver like features, including a unidirectional bezel with high polished facets.
It is watertight up to 200m and equipped with the Swiss made automatic movement Landeron L24 manufacture.
The Isaria also features a structured dial inspired by the wave form of the river Isar with Swiss superluminova indices and hands.
Like the Bavaria, all straps are interchangeable with ease and all straps from the Bavaria series also fit the Isaria.
Isaria is currently in pre-order for a reduced price of €555 which is €1000 off the retail price.
It will be released in Q2 2023.
