The battle for Lifestyle Watch Brand of the Year was a truly global affair this year, with Japanese giants Citizen, Seiko and Casio going toe-to-toe with Mondaine, Garmin, Timex, Rotary and Sekonda.
Only retailers were allowed to vote for watch brands in the WatchPro Awards, and they were asked to consider the quality of products, service, support. sales and marketing when choosing which brands they most admire.
Garmin, which has only this year started targeting traditional jewellers to sell its fitness-focused smartwatches, was a strong challenger.
But it was Seiko which came out on top, grabbing 31% of votes.
The Award was collected on the night by Seiko UK group marketing manager Faye Lovenbury.
