Internationally renowned design and display company Redd Retail Group has announced its sponsorship of the WatchPro Awards for the third consecutive year. WatchPro caught up with the company’s director Karl Turnbull to find out what makes the WatchPro Awards such a good fit for Redd.
WatchPro: How does it feel to be sponsoring the WatchPro Awards for the third successive year?
Karl Turnbull: Redd Retail Group is proud to be sponsoring the WatchPro Awards for the third year running; we have seen the event grow and it is the ‘go to’ awards evening for the watch industry.
WP: What progress do you feel the Awards have made in the two years they have been hosted?
KT: The WatchPro Awards has become a more sophisticated and high profile event over the last few years.
The Awards have matured greatly over time and brands speak excitedly of this great evening.
WP: Why are the Awards considered the big night of the year for the UK watch industry?
KT: The awards is one of the biggest nights in the industry’s calendar as it is dedicated only to the UK watch industry, celebrating all of the success for brands throughout the year.
Brands look forward to a great evening; although the room is competitive there is always time to socialise and network with like-minded professionals.
WP: What are the main benefits to you as a sponsor?
KT: Being recognised as an industry leader for retail displays and shop-in-shop furniture, the Awards offers us the perfect platform to promote and market our brand to a tailored audience.
WP: How was the first half of 2018 for Redd Retail Group?
KT: We believe that the first half of 2018 has been tough for the industry.
For Redd Retail, we have been busy actively pushing UK and international markets and focusing on internal developments with the aim of being on hand when the brands are ready to change gear.
Already this year we have been present at well-known shows around the world including Baselworld, JCK, Shenzhen Watch and Clock Fair, and we will also be exhibiting at the Hong Kong Watch and Clock fair later on in the year.
