Lorus new website

Lorus creates first UK standalone website

Seiko-owned watch brand Lorus has launched its first UK-focused website, offering a complete collection of watches to buy online, with dedicated YouTube videos for each line.

The brand explained that, to date, consumers have had to choose between using a European Lorus website that might have watches not available in the UK, or they have had to browse Lorus via the Seiko site which it says may have been confusing due to the differing brand names.

As a result the UK site has been created with the aim of improving its UK customers’ experience. The inaugural UK site mirrors the launch of an online media campaign for Lorus, that includes advertising on popular fashion and footballing websites.

It has also created YouTube videos for each of its lines to help shoppers get a better feel of the watches, as well as a Facebook page which although still in its early stages, Lorus hopes will drive more traffic to its website and Twitter page.

Seiko and Lorus have worked with Shine Internet Limited, a web design company in the West Midlands, to create the new site.

Joanna Flint, senior marketing executive for Lorus, said: “We are delighted to have a dedicated Lorus site for the UK market to give our consumers the experience they deserve.

“Every watch has a high quality video of it to give visitors a real feel of how the watch looks from every angle, giving them confidence to buy online via one of our retail partners. The videos are all available on the Lorus YouTube channel, meaning any of our retail partners can feature them on their own websites as well.”

Flint said the YouTube channel will remain a key focus for the brand, describing it as a “great asset” that will be used each time a new collection is launched.
