British business William Wood has unveiled its first field watch, the Fearless collection, which does away with the brand’s usual diver’s bezel to deliver a slimmer everyday watch.
The watches will be revealed to the public for the first time at WATCHPRO Salon, which runs from November 11 to 12 at The Londoner Hotel on Leicester Square.

The size has been taken down from a 41mm case to 40mm, keeping pace with today’s trend for slighter profile timepieces.
Fearless watches maintain the William Wood connection to the fire service, not just in its logo that includes a vintage firefighter’s helmet, but also with a dramatic case back made to look like a modern day helmet, with the visor of the helmet opening up to reveal a Seiko-made NH35 automatic movement within.
The collection of three-handers with date comes in three colourways: black coated cases and dials with accents of yellow, orange and red.
They come on straps made from repurposed black fire hose — black is a rare Fire Service colour — with stitching matching the watches’ accent colours.
There is a range of additional straps in brighter colours.
They also have the William Wood signature component, crowns decorated using material from an upcycled 100-year-old British brass firefighter’s helmet.
“We set out to create a collection that was very different to anything we had created so far but still wanted to stay true to the core values of William Wood. A Field Watch is a first for us and we are thrilled to finally be able to show off what we have spent nearly a year working on. Sourcing the black fire hose for the straps wasn’t easy to say the least but we felt that was a feature that gives this collection an edge along with the unique and very cool visor caseback, of course,” says Jonny Garrett, CEO and founder of William Wood Watches.
Each of the three versions of the Fearless watch is limited to just 250 pieces, retailing for £895.
